    EDIFIER MP85: Compact and Delightful

    Introduction
This is my first time reviewing a Bluetooth speaker, and this particular one is quite interesting. It's compact and light, yet it delivers powerful sound.

Edifier is a popular brand known for its speakers, though it eventually entered the true wireless scene. Audiophiles and casual audio lovers alike tend to like Edifier because it offers great sound quality without breaking the bank.

    Build and Functions
The MP85 was released in 2023 in other countries, but in my country, it was released last year. Until now, this is a hot-selling item. Because of its compact and lightweight design, the overall vibe it gives me is like an amplifier that has some ports for instruments.

The overall build is made out of plastic, which is common in this price range. The only metal here is the lanyard hook slot, which is a nice touch from Edifier. By the way, the lanyard is also included in the box, but of course, you can provide your own. I didn't test this while hiking since that's not my line and hobby, to begin with.

This has 3 buttons that are also made out of plastic, but it's a high-quality plastic, same as the housing. The buttons are clicky and have an ample tactile feeling to them.

The Power button is the play and pause button, while the volume buttons serve as forward skip and backward skip. I wish that Edifier had added a button for the 3 EQ modes, since you can only activate them through the app.

    Imaginative Kiso Harmonica

The overall sound is that it prioritizes the midrange and highs, since the lows are on the average side. If you're expecting it to have that traditional aggressive bass punch and slam, this is not it, since this only uses a dynamic driver and it has no passive radiator.

    Form factor and Size

The weight of this Bluetooth speaker is around 70grams, which is quite small and compact.

    Bluetooth Specification

This uses Bluetooth version 5.3 which is quite good, it has some decent length and reach..

    Battery endurance

According to Edifier, this can last up to 8 hours of playback, but in my testing, it does not reach that mark. The closest I can get is around 3-4 hours in full volume, while in low volume, around 4-5 hours.

    Charging

Honestly its quite acceptable for me. The charging output is around 1.5w to a maximum of 2w. In today's standard this is super slow and quite old..
