TANGZU Audio Wan'er S.G: Double Mix

Disclaimers

I would like to thank a very special person and that person is Sir Kent Aldriann Alfonso and the Tangzu team especially Sir Steve Tong; without them I wouldn't be able to test this pair of IEM's of which one I really like it a lot. Well let's start.

Introduction

This is a brand new product from TANGZU and it's something that we're really excited about. You may be wondering what it is, so we'll give you a brief overview. The main reason the title is Double Mix is that the Wan'er S.G is a combination of Shimin-Li and Zetian-Wu. Also the Double Mix is a reference from an anime which is called D4DJ.

Tangzu was formerly known as T-Force; however, as a result of various business-related issues, the company made the decision to change its name to Tangzu, which, to be honest, is a much better name choice.

While having my audio break i decided to try to have a session with this pair and trust me guys, it was really an amazing experience. The sound that you get from this in ear is just amazing, and it really brings the music alive. So without further ado lets start to give my impressions about this in ear. So let's start!!.

Packaging and Contents

Outside the box there is a picture of Wan'er S.G with her name and details like specs etc printed on the back. Inside the box there are instruction manual, The cable, packaging slip and other documents as well. The packaging also consists accessories of two sets of eartips of different sizes. So in terms of the overall look of the packaging i am really happy with the thought that they put the picture of Wan'er S.G. Its like a tribute and at the same time a memorial. This is a big thing because to me it shows that they really appreciate her being one of their models.

As for the contents I think that they did a good job as everything is well packed inside the box. However, the only thing that I find a bit lacking is the accessories. Yes there's two sets of eartips and cleaning cloth i still find it to lack some more eartips.

Sound Signature

The Wan'er S.G has a Neutral to almost Flat sound signature but others might find it dark/ dull and bright. Since this has the DNA of the Shimin-li it has a chance to be bright but only depends on the track and on the mixability of the song itself and your own EQing capabilities.

Bass

It has more focus on the Mid-Bass Region and this has great decent body and texture to it and has very good extension. It can easily control deep and medium kicks and doesn't feel artificial or too boomy. Sub-Bass has that impact but not that prominent and bassheads might feel that it lacks that punch and rumble but for everyone else who isn't too picky with their bass it does a pretty decent job.

Mids

The female vocals are so great it has that clarity and emotion to it. It is really easy to hear the notes of the song and its very pleasant to listen to this IEM. Male Vocals are also clear with good body to them and even in this price range overall they are very well done. Now lets talk about the Violin. which is under the upper midrange region. as a former violinist this is i would use for my long travels and casual use because it has the emotion and the feel i like. This does not sound metallic or glassy instead its more on natural sound with not being to much boosted or distorted.

Treble

This is an upgrade from shimin-li; the treble is more prominent, and the sound is airy and textured; however, the level of detail is not quite as high as it is in shimin-li. Wan'er, like shimin-li, can have a tendency for piercing highs, but in my listening sessions, I've found that the instrument has better control and balance, so songs that are admittedly bright still sound good in context. Since everyone has a different sensitivity to high frequencies, the treble is a matter of taste, but rest assured that the treble here performs admirably and won't cause your ears any unnecessary strain.

Drive Type Tech

Lets first talk about the soundstage. It has decent wideness with decent height and layering with a little bit of depth. separation and imaging are on the above average. Instruments can be located just fine and you'll be able to distinguish them clearly in the presentation. imaging in the other hand is very vivid and well defined with a very good resolution. Details is more on the average side but its main style is more on macro rather than the micro.

𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗼 𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲𝘀

My smartphone can fully drive it so that I can maximize the full sound of this In ear monitor . But it will be much better if you have a dedicated audio source such as an Amp or a USB-DAC as well as a DAP.

Has included cleaning cloth which is a great decision to add since cleaning is very important to maintain the lifespan of any electronics gear.

great for casual listeners and consumers who want to upgrade from there current earphone on a budget.

𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀

Cable feels a bit cheap and can be annoying during long usage since it has a tendency to have tangleness especially when the cable is not properly coiled under the housing.

Case which is subjective

lack of accessories since it only has two set of eartips.

No cable winder

Build quality is decent and its made out of P.R.C

Has a tendency to be bright at higher volumes but it only depends on the recording and source.(Subjective)
