"We're reuniting at last. It makes me happy, but please be patient. Stay put for a moment longer. I promise I'll never give you up again. It's the last time I'll ever be wrong. Soon.''

Review Setup

TempoTec E44: -29.8 to -26.2 dB(UAPP Setup)
Tangzu Audio Widebore ear tips
Sound enhancers or EQ. I don’t use them in my reviews since it alters the authentic sound of the IEM and makes it saturated. Now, let’s dissect the Bass, Mids, Treble, and Technicalities.

Introduction

The name "stepless" is perfect because it is both simple and elegant, making it a great choice. Given the fact that it is not my usual to provide an intro, that is all I can think of to say at the get go. Let's get on with the set's packaging for the time being.

Packaging

At first glance, the box's exterior features a character straight out of an anime. I wasn't expecting much from the packaging, as this is aimed at a more budgeted market. Want to know what's inside? sure, and here's what the box looks like on the inside.
  • The Bullet Iem itself
  • Set of eartips, that consits of, S,M and L
  • Paper works including the warranty
  • Canvas bag with Cvj Logo

Drivability

This has a sensitivity of 101 dB and an impedance of 16 ohms, which makes it simple to use,

Sound impressions

When I first heard this iem, I immediately pictured a U. After putting this iem through its paces for a while. My  impressions have shifted. I now find that it is well-balanced, with a slightly mid-centric tuning.

Bass: 3/5

This is excellent for the price, as the bass does not leak or sound overly aggressive. Instead it is tight and full of body and detail. The sub-bass is fantastic; it packs a punch without coming across as aggressive.
The mid-bass is excellent, as it does not bleed and adds excellent body and texture to the sound.

Mids: 3/5

unexpected since mids in this price range lacks clarity or resolution. Cvj step up their game with this release. The vocals are not buried but rather sit at the forefront of the track. But, despite the prominence of the vocals. it lacks emotion, for both female and male vocals. Although the violin's sound is acceptable for the price. it lacks clarity and resolution. Some genres of music, especially instrumental tracks and Jpop. They have a tendency to have thin and harsh sounding. As a whole, it's not terrible, especially considering the price, because the mids are so catchy.

Treble: 3/5

It has a respectable amount of sustain without coming off as shrill or sibilant. In my experience, this is the first time I've ever used a super cheap iem set that actually had passable air quality. I always look for the shimmering highs and it has thoose qualities. For the price, it has a reasonable amount of shimmer.

Tech: 2/5

Considering that it costs less than $3, I won't be nitpicky, but here's the truth: It's got some good specifics. but it's pretty weak. despite decent imaging, Vocals and instruments can be hard to place. Height and width of the soundstage are both satisfactory.

Pros:

  • Decent sounding with pleasing mids
  •  has a pouch bag
  • cable binder
  • easy to drive
  • great anime art style

Cons

  • Bass needs more energy
  • Microphonics
  • not detachable

Conclusion

This is a new contender in the ultra-budget segment. There are better contenders in the segment. but this is on a new level due to its engaging mids and well-balanced tuning.  Cvj, you are off to a good start with the stepless; this is a positive development; keep it up!
